Weekly Activities for 3 Months Baby Feb 29 , 2024

Your 3-month-old baby is in all likelihood fascinated by your face. They'll also be newly interested in shapes and patterns in bright colors. Put an interesting toy in their line of vision and they'll likely reach for and attempt to bat at it.

Here are a few simple activities to do with your 3-month-old baby:

1. Pop! Song & Hip Baby
Your baby is just beginning to gravitate toward interesting sounds and words. This singing game illustrates that point while catering to babies' love of surprises.Sing the classic nursery song "Pop! Goes the Weasel," but highlight the element of surprise with sound effects and actions. Start out softly and slowly: "'Round and 'round the cobbler's bench, the monkey chased the weasel, the monkey thought 'twas all in fun..." (then raise your voice to finish): "Pop! goes the weasel."

2.
Different Drums & Kicking Back

With your baby on drums and you on lead vocals, you can also help boost her social and communication skills.

Using the empty containers as drums, show your baby how to tap their lids with your palms, fingers, and the heel of your hand. You can use wooden spoons (with caution) if you want. You can tape the drums together with duct or packing tape to make a drum set. You can also try singing some doo-wops to demonstrate different rhythms as you play.

3. Roller Coaster & Look Who's Here

Using a beach ball or yoga ball, blow it up most of the way, so it rolls but still has a soft spot. Holding your baby securely with your hands on either side of his rib cage, place him tummy-down on top of the ball or pillow and roll him back and forth and from side to side. Make sure your baby stays awake for this activity, and, of course, keep your hands on him at all times.
